YESTERDAY The Bolton News revealed that season-ticket holders at Wanderers have been informed that there is a possibility that the upper tier will be closed for future Bolton games.
The announcement has divided opinion among our readers. Here are some of the comments in response
This is a decision pending consultation between the club and those who sit upstairs, including myself.

I don't mind partial closure to cut costs but the loss of goodwill by closing all upper tiers will be damaging.
Let's have the meeting and hear what the owners have to say.
SuperCyril77 - What we are doing now because of FV is accepting we are a lower League club the very least i expected this season was to stay up but even without the 12 point deduction they couldn't do it so what chance have we got getting promoted back up from League 2 next season!!!!!
I’d like to stay in my upper tier seat, sat up there since day one and it was where I sat with my grandad until he passed. It means a lot to me. But, it is inevitable I think.

Whitesince63 - Although I always sit in the upper tier I think this is an entirely sensible decision. Earlier this season when I was forced to sit in the East Stand Lower, the atmosphere was far better and since gates in the second half and next year will probably be lower still, it makes no sense to have all the ground open. I accept some will be upset by it but sometimes you just have to take a sensible view for the better good.
You have to give the fans from the upper tiers an opportunity to stay there, you can’t just close all the uppers — Ian Eccleshare (@IanEcc01) January 29, 2020
The Bolton No 10 Shirt - I'm not an upper tier season ticket holder and sympathise with those who are and who would have to (possibly begrudgingly) relocate next season. However, the economics seem sensible. When the upper tier eventually reopens, as a goodwill gesture, perhaps the club will consider offering those who relocated first choice of seats and their season ticket at a modest discount for their flexibility and any inconvenience caused.
For views and sentimental reasons, I’d love to stay in the uppers, but I don’t mind sitting in the lowers at all, improved atmosphere and you feel more involved at the game, I’m just happy to go watch my club wherever I sit!

Wanderbob - Make sense to me but what can we expect with all the rotten bad luck we've had in the past 5 -10 years with bad management it still on going till they clear up the mess left behind by no ken do ..I'm sure will see the light again in the near future but Lg 2 is here to stay until we get better management who can work a team with better players .
Keep one upper tier open, to relocate the family stand and all those that want to stay upper. Just to add I relocated from NU with my Son to EL and love it. But my neighbour who is elderly needs the upper as he struggles to see and the stairs keep him fit 😂😂 I’d keep EU open

bwfc125 - I can understand the upper tiers being shut next season with cost and everything else that goes with it . I too would be upset if I had to give up my seat in the lower north stand but on the occasional we have had the upper seats closed this season those that sat near me said that there was a completely different view from lower down which they liked . those that want to sit together next season from upper tiers should be given next choice after lower season ticket holders . I know the seats either side of me are ticket holders and havent been all season which is odd . With the upper tiers closed essential work on the roof will need to be done and seats changed ready for when it is reopen FV have to pay for this too no remodel work was done under Anderson as we can all see the stadium doesn't look it's best let's all help FV sort out the mess others have left us with both on and off the pitch
The reality is, we are in for another relegation battle next season. Crowds will be down to 7k. I'd keep one upper tier open otherwise knock another 1000 off that total

They should definitely close them, it looked horrendous last night and it’d be much more cost efficient than keeping them open for they minority that don’t want to move.

Tarjeta amarillo - Tricky one, but if/when this happens the club have to, have to, have to significantly improve the experience of buying from the kiosks because it is absolutely woeful and more fans in the lower tiers will make this worse. Good to see they are in the 21st century with chip n pin machines at long last though.
