BOLTON Wanderers’ Connor Hall has been praised by the Chorley manager after an eventful second outing of his loan spell with the Magpies.

Hall scored his first goal for the club in the 1-1 draw at Yeovil Town on Saturday.

The 21-year-old grabbed the equaliser on the stroke of half time but was then sent off for a second yellow card midway through the second period.

Magpies manager Jamie Vermiglio believes the striker was unlucky to be dismissed and is pleased with the impact he is making at the National League club.

"Connor was brilliant for us. He works so hard up there. He scored a very good goal here," said Vermiglio.

"Smithy’s (Martin Smith) played a great pass up the pitch, he’s spun off round the back, had a touch and finished it into the bottom left hand corner giving the keeper no chance.

"He definitely deserved it so it’s a shame for him he’s been sent off. I didn’t think it was a sending off, we’ll have to look back at it.

"He’s connected in the first challenge and then in the second one, potentially, but I didn’t think there was much in that either.

"I’ll have a look at it. I feel sorry for him because he’s just getting up to speed, but I’m sure he’ll carry on over the next couple of weeks, get himself super fit and bounce back for us."

Hall, who made his league debut for Bolton in January before being sent out on loan, is out of contract in the summer and will be looking to impress during this spell at Chorley.

The Magpies are four points adrift at the bottom of the National League table and are next in action at Ebbsfleet on February 15.
