A TOTTINGTON amateur dramatic society is preparing to return to the stage with their magical new pantomime — oh yes it is!

St Anne’s Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (SADOS) will bring Once Upon A Witch to Four Lane Ends Congregational Church at the start of next month.

The magical tale is set in the heart of Fairyland which as a result of a bit of a financial pickle and has had to downsize its workforce.

To make matters worse the Fairyland storybook has gone missing and all the tales are becoming tangled together.

In the midst of the muddle, the Wicked Witch has spied an opportunity to a magic up a bad ending, and her spellbinding new apprentice many hold the key to her destiny, or perhaps harbour her own ambitions and desires.

Linda Stevenson, vice chairman of SADOS, said: “We’re excited to present our latest production Once Upon A Witch, especially as this year along side our experienced players, we have some of our junior members moving forward and taking on the principal roles.

“We are proud to support our youngsters going through, as every year we see their confidence grow.

“Although our society has fewer members than some, our audiences come back year after year because they know that what we produce is not the usual story line of a traditional pantomime and even though we have plenty of cheers and booing, you never quite know what’s going to happen next.”

The pantomime opens on March 6 at 7.30pm, with further performances at 2.30pm on March 7, 7.30pm on March 12, 7.30pm on March 13 and 2.30pm on March 14.

Tickets priced £8 for adults and £6 for children are available from Rachel Walker on 07736 809817.

And all tickets for the show performance on March 12 will be priced £6.
