A YELLOW weather warning for snow and ice is in force for Oldham and the rest of Greater Manchester today - but when is the snow expected to hit?

According to the latest forecasts, snow is expected to hit the town fom mid afternoon today and lasting through to Wednesday.

There is a 50% chance of some snowfall this evening, peaking at over 70% overnight and into tomorrow morning.

The Oldham Times:

The warning comes as the region was battered by Storm Ciara this weekend, with flooding being experienced throughout Greater Manchester.

A Met Office amber weather warning for wind elapsed at 9pm last night as Storm Ciara moved away to the North East of Scotland.

Now part of the UK are braced for blizzards and up to 20cm of snow in the wake of the storm — with a yellow warning of snow and ice in force for Oldham throughout today and tomorrow.
