THE DRIVER of a road sweeper involved in a shocking motorway smash escaped with no injuries.
The accident occurred on the M60 this morning (Monday) between Junctions 6 and 5 on the anti-clockwise carriageway.
Two lanes were shut for around half an hour because of the incident, causing delays for commuters.
Pictures posted by the North West Motorway Police on Facebook show the scale of the incident.
One of the vehicles involved, a road sweeper, sustained heavy damage to its front end, with the windscreen smashed and parts of the engine visible.
However, despite the severity of the crash nobody was injured.
