A MUCH loved music venue and pub has been given a fresh lease of life after a huge makeover.
The Eagle Inn, which is a regular drinking spot of well known musicians — including Bury's Elbow — has reopened after undergoing a £100,000 refurbishment.
Upgrades include a new beer garden and revamped interiors, with new tables, chairs and parquet flooring.
Its iconic audience space remains unchanged, however, and maintains is raised stage and balcony.
Richard Kershaw, chief executive of Joseph Holt brewery which owns the pub, said he hoped refurbishment of The Eagle would reinforce its position as one of Greater Manchester’s favourite live music venues.
The Grade II list pub in Collier Street, Salford, dates from 1848 and features an antique piano and jukebox crammed with classic tracks.
It also sits near to the Blueprint Studios where Elbow record.
