DUTY never sleeps for Salford's hardworking traffic cops who got more than they bargained for as they took a well earned coffee break.

The officers had pulled in for drink at a drivethru at West One Salford shortly before 9.50pm last night when they became concerned about the car in front of them.

After running checks, the white BMW was found have an expired test certificate and the insurance on the vehicle had been cancelled since August 2019.

Officers then seized the car and reported the driver for both offences.

In a tweet, GMP Traffic said: "XT14 ended up with more than just a Latte when he went through the drivethru at West One Salford.

"The BMW in front was found to have a expired test certificate and the insurance had been cancelled in August 2019. Car seized and the driver reported for both offences."
