A NEW support group encouraging people that 'it is ok to talk about mental health' is coming to Bury.
Unmasked Mental Health will launch its new talking group at Costa Coffee in the Tesco superstore at Woodfield Retail Park on Thursday.
The group aims to provide people with a safe, non-judgmental space where they can talk about their feelings and challenge stigmas around mental health.
Logan Smith, the group's founder, said: "Unmasked Mental Health is here to offer support to women and men aged over 16 and is completely free.
"Just come along and have a brew and a chat, get things off your chest, and leave feeling a lot lighter."
Unmasked Mental Health was found in 2019 in Halifax by Mr Smith and Doug Dennison and already has four support groups across Calderdale.
The duo have also created the UK's first peer to peer support app, which is free to use and has a 24-hour service enabling people to get support anonymously any time of day from the comfort of their own homes.
The Bury support group will meet on Thursdays every week from 7pm.
