STAFF at a specialist spa provider in Bury had reason to crack open the bubbly after clinching international trade honours.

Husband and wife team Kath and Stewart Garnett, who run Marquise Spas in Walmersley were feted by one of their American partners for 'outstanding performance' through 2019.

And the prize, presented to the couple at the home of Marquis Spas in Salem, Oregon, capped off a splendid run for the outfit, which is based within the Park Farm Shop and Garden Centre.

December also saw the family firm awarded a silver standard at the UK Pool and Spa Awards in the spa technician of the year category.

And they were also given bronze standards in the sunken/semi-sunken hot tub project of the year and pool and spa showroom of the year sections at the same event.

For the Garnett it has been among their the crowning achievements since establishing the spa company, which also trades in swim spas and saunas, five years ago.

Kath said: "We have exhibited at many local shows including the Royal Lancashire, Great Harwood, Great Eccleston, Cheshire Show, Lancashire Game and Country Fest, West Moreland, various steam rallies, Southport Flower Show, Bury show and many more.

"These shows have helped establish Marquise Spas in our local area."

Their services have also extended out to incorporate landscaping and gazebos for more ambitious leisure projects.

The Oregon firm which presented them with their Stateside prize is just one of the authorised dealers Marquise works with, alongside Aspen Hot tubs, Almost Heaven Saunas, Tylo Helo saunas and steam rooms and Covana automated gazebos.

Before their spas odyssey, Stewart had worked in the leisure industry for more than 30 years, working on a variety of improvement initiatives. And Kath had worked in several leisure roles, from management and coaching to working in sports rehab.
