CORONAVIRUS fears led to the adjournment of two cases at Bolton Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Lisa Marie Dodgin had been due to face the court after she was charged with shoplifting alcohol, worth £132, from Asda on March 1.
But court staff became concerned as she was sweating and running a temperature and so 40-year-old Dodgin, of Park Road, Westhoughton was ordered to go home without entering the courtroom and her case was adjourned until April 8.
Warren Rennie, aged 34, of Morven Grove, Bolton, had been due to be in court accused of damaging a woman's sofa and front window and possessing a knife. But Rahil Khan, defending, told the court that Rennie had called to say he has a temperature and has been advised to self isolate by his doctor. His case was adjourned until April 9.
Bolton courts are currently operating as normal through the coronavirus crisis.
