A BOLTON patient has died after contracting coronavirus.
A spokesperson for Bolton NHS Foundation Trust said: “Sadly, we can confirm that a man who was being cared for at Royal Bolton Hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, has died.
“The patient, who died, was in his late 70s and had underlying health conditions.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with his family at this difficult and distressing time.”
The news comes as a further 46 people who tested positive in England have died, bringing the UK's death toll to 335.
Announcing the new figures, NHS England said all the patients had underlying health conditions.
A statement said: “A further 46 people who tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in England to 303.
“Patients were aged between 47 and 105 years old and all had underlying health conditions. Their families have been informed.”
