A FORMER student at Blackburn College has taken on two apprentices at his successful hair salon in the town.
Twenty-two-year-old Elliot Caffrey has been managing the business for over a year after graduating from the college, which sits a short walk away from the salon on King Street.
He said: “I chose to attend Blackburn College because I knew they had the best hairdressing course and facilities, good opportunities and it was local to me.
“I really enjoyed the hands-on learning approach, especially being able to work in a salon while gaining my qualification.
“The college helped prepare me for the future by teaching me key skills, not only hairdressing techniques but also how to run and manage a salon.
“I would like to say thank-you to the tutors who were always on hand whenever I needed any guidance," he added.
“Hopefully the apprentices who are currently working at Elliot Caffrey Hair are going to take a similar journey to me after they finish their studies.” said Elliot
