THE NATIONAL Eisteddfod has been postponed due to the coronavirus.

A message on the organiser's website reads: "We have had to take the difficult decision to postpone the Ceredigion National Eisteddfod until next year because of COVID-19 infection

"This decision comes at the busiest and most expensive time of the year, as we finalise the arrangements and contracts.

"We were about to announce the details of our artistic program for the Eisteddfod week, which promises to be one of the best ever."

Eisteddfod Court President and Chair of the Management Board, Ashok Ahir, said, "Naturally, our supporters will be disappointed, but I am sure everyone will agree that this is the right and sensible decision for us to take.

“It’s important to stress that we are not cancelling the festival, but rather postponing the Ceredigion Eisteddfod for a year.”
