Birthday celebrations across the country have been ruined as people are urged to stay at home to slow the spread of coronavirus.

We asked who you were supposed to be partying with, and whether you had any special messages for them.

Here are some special messages for those celebrating their birthdays in lockdown.

Anita Rogerson: My dad Frank Berry is celebrating a special birthday on April 18. He will be 80. We had lots of plans to celebrate but will do it when this is over. Love Anita, Spen and granddaughter Molly.

Sarah Mitchell: Wishing my lovely grandmother Mabel Mitchell a happy 95th birthday.

Vicky Blears: Our dad Harry Blears 80th birthday on April 22. From his loving wife Hilary, children Phil, Vicky & Pete.

Hazel Bennett: Nicola Jones was 50 on April 2 We won’t be able to celebrate but also she & her fiancé Colin were due to be married on Easter Saturday. We look forward to her wedding at a later date.

Jules Corless: My dad Pat he will be 65 on Friday and he’s recently become a great grandad but we haven’t been able to see baby Evie for 3 weeks now and she’s only 4 weeks old

Bell San Lyn: Alan Bell my dad will be celebrating the grand young age of 80 on the 10th April, in isolation with his wife Joan . Not the celebration we had planned but we want my dad to celebrate more birthdays. Love you Dad from your 4 children and 5 grandchildren xxx

Paula Derby: My dad Jim Mc Clusky was 74 on April 2. I passed his presents over the fence. We are all waiting to get together for a big party xx

Elizabeth Carr: Me and my sister Elaine Shields will be 66 and the first time that we won’t see one another on our birthday.

Jennifer Farrimond: My son Jack Farrimond will be turning 6 on April 13. He’s keeping us smiling and we love him to bits, especially his little sister Olivia.

Sarah Taylor: William and Edward Taylor turned five by fighting COVID 19 as ninja turtles by staying in their shells/home !!!

Kylie ‘Kubes’ Crossley: My grandma, Brenda Morrall will be turning 85 on April 10, she’s the glue of our family and we all love her to pieces

Paula Bancks: Amanda Moulder will be 37 on April 15. Not being able to celebrate umpteen times is going to be torture.

Julie Waterfield: Lifelong friends, William George Waterfield and Thomas Edward Stubbs will turn 18. This will be the first year they won’t be together.

Lauren Rachel Alergant: April 30 will be my boyfriend Brad Wood’ss 44th birthday. First one since 2014 we won’t be together.

Heather German Woods: My Isla has just turned nine. This is the 2nd year on the trot that her birthday plans have been stopped.

Sumera Patel-Motala: My eldest son, Mohammed Mustafa Motala, will turn 10 on April 13 and I would love for you to surprise him with a birthday message.

Hazel Kirkman: My son Callum will be 21 on April 27. We were going to make this one special because he missed out on his 18th due to having chemotherapy treatment which he is now in remission from.

Kath Kay: My twins Laura and Jude are turning 15 today and we should have been flying to Portugal.

Danielle Turner: It was my little girl Aria’s 4th birthday on Sunday and we had to cancel her party, which she has been very understanding about but still wondering why her best friends aren’t coming!

Hollie Blears: It’s my daughter Millie’s birthday on the April 18 when she will be 3.
