A police officer was kicked and bitten while breaking up a party in Prestwich yesterday evening.
Two people have been charged with assault following the incident.
On Saturday 18 April, just after 4pm, officers were called to reports of a party at a property on Sherbourne Court, Prestwich. Members of separate households were at the property, which goes against lockdown guidelines.
The assault happened after a female police office asked those who didn't live at the property to leave, under the Coronavirus Act 2020. She was then kicked and her hand was bitten, although no serious injury was caused.
Jade Moriarty, 29, of Ripon Avenue, Whitefield and Kieran McCluskey, 32, of Collen Crescent, Bury, have been charged with assault on an emergency worker.
They will appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on 2 June.
