AN inquest has opened following a Bury man's death from coronavirus
Philip Nuttall, 58, of Lepp Crescent, Brandlesholme, died at Fairfield Hospital on May 6.
Mr Nuttall was a supermarket worker and was married.
At Rochdale Coroner's Court, police coroner's officer, Jane Scullion, said Mr Nuttall was admitted to hospital on April 16 with shortness of breath.
He tested positive for Covid-19 and became more unwell on April 27. His health deteriorated and he passed away.
Coroner Catherine McKenna said Mr Nuttall had died due to multiple organ failure, due to Covid-19, and added that he had also suffered from Type 2 diabetes.
Ms McKenna said she required a "very detailed report" on the care provided to Mr Nuttall up to the point of his death.
She formally opened the inquest and set a review date for June 22, with a date for the full inquest set to be announced at a later date.
