A TEENAGE girl is in hospital after being hit by a car when she was walking down the street. 

The crash happened at around 4.40pm on Thursday, May 21.

She was walking on Wootton Road in Abingdon when she was struck by a black Citreon C3.

At the time she was taken to hospital with serious injuries but is now in a stable condition.

Investigating officer, PC Sarah Davies, of the Joint Operations Road Policing Unit, based at Abingdon, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone who may have information, to please come forward.

“I would also urge motorists with dash-cams, who were in the local area around the time of the incident, to check any footage in case it may have captured something that could assist our investigation."
