FIVE people have been arrested after reports that a gun was fired in Radcliffe.
Police were called after shots were allegedly fired at Redbank Playing Fields at around 2.20pm today.
Thankfully no one was injured in the incident, police said.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a heavy police presence around the scene and surrounding streets, as well as a a police helicopter flying overhead.
Officers arrested two men and three women after attending the scene.
They currently remain in custody for questioning, a Greater Manchester Police spokesman confirmed.
Several police officers remained at the scene this evening. A bike was also left abandoned in the middle of the field.
