A MAN has been jailed after assaulting a woman at an address in Bournemouth during the coronavirus lockdown.
Nazrul Islam Uddin, aged 40 and of no fixed abode, admitted the charge of assault in relation to an incident on April 7 at a property in Brook Road.
Magistrates in Poole committed him to prison for 25 days, with the court noting the seriousness of the offence because of the defendants previous record of similar crimes.
Uddin, who had previously pleaded not guilty but changed his plea when he appeared in court on June 3, was also ordered to pay £300 costs and a £122 surcharge.
