Wirral's best and worst GP practices, as voted for by patients, have been revealed.

The GP Patient Survey 2020 asked residents for their views on their doctors' surgeries across a range of different areas.

In the main 'overall experience' category, Church Road Medical Practice was ranked the highest in the borough, with 100% of patients who completed the survey ranking it as 'good'.

The lowest performing surgery in this key metric was Egremont Medical Centre, with only 74%.

Wirral's GP practices as a whole received a blended overall experience rating of 87% 'good' - 5% above the national average of 82%.

Other high scoring surgeries include Manor Health Centre, Prenton Medical Centre, Grove Road, Holmlands Medical Centre and Allport Medical Centre, who all managed 97% or above.

Only 11 of Wirral's 50 GP Practices delivered an overall score below the national average.

Another area measured included how easy residents found it to make an appointment at their practice.

71% of Wirral Patients described the overall process as 'good' - above the national average score of 65%

Church Road Medical Centre high-scored here again with 96%, followed by Grove Road Surgery on 94%

But only 46% of patients surveyed at Hoylake and Meols Medical Centre considered the appointment experience to be 'good' - the lowest score on the borough.

In Wirral, 17,479 questionnaires were sent out with 5,487 returned completed. This represents a response rate of 31%.
