A major road was closed in Bolton due to a police incident.
Bridgeman Place from the junction between Manchester Road and St Peter's Way was closed from around 5am due to a "police incident", but has since reopened.
People asked to avoid the area but the cause of this is currently unknown.
A post on Transport for Greater Manchester Twitter, which has been deleted, read: "Road Closure - Bridgeman Place, Bolton from the junction with Manchester Road to St Peters Way.
"This is due to a police incident.
"If you're heading this way, please seek an alternative route."
Transport for Greater Manchester and Greater Manchester Police have been approached for more information.

However, the area is now experiencing traffic signal failures.
The traffic lights are not working at Trinity Street, Manchester Road, and Lower Bridgeman Street.
TFGM is asking motorists to approach with caution.
