Yasmin Qureshi, MP for Bolton South East, has called on local charities and good causes to apply for funding from one of four trusts funded by players of the Postcode Lottery.

Applications opened on August 4 and run to August 19 for organisations to apply for grants between £500 and £20,000.

Groups can apply to one of four trusts, which each support projects focused on different themes.

The postcode neighbourhood trust which helps good causes affected by covid 19 and are looking to adapt their services.

People's postcode trust which funds projects aimed at promoting human rights, community trust supporting initiatives to improve health and wellbeing in communities, and local trust which is for groups looking to increase community access to outdoor space and improve biodiversity.

Ms Qureshi said: "During the pandemic we have seen so many come together to help and support each other. Our community groups have been the cornerstone of that work.

"I encourage any interested organisations to take the eligibility quiz then apply for the trust that best fits their needs. Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have already raised over £500 million for good causes and I would love to see a slice of that going to organisations in Bolton, Farnworth, Kearsley, Hulton and Little Lever."
