THERE was plenty to celebrate at Bury College as A Level and BTEC students secured another year of outstanding results.

Among the cream of this year's crop was Levi Arden whose exceptional success landed him an offer from the University of Oxford.

After achieving two A* grades in Maths and Further Maths and an A in Physics, he will head off this September to study Physics.

Levi said: “I am ecstatic with my results, progressing onto the University of Oxford is a dream come true.”

Also left beaming after earning top marks was Caite Durack, who achieved an A* in Sociology, an A in English Language and Literature and a C in Drama and Theatre Studies.

Caite will now study Childhood and Youth and Drama at Liverpool Hope University.

She said: “I am so pleased that my hard work has paid off and I will now be progressing onto university.”

Bury College students also proved that A Levels are not the only route to success as they racked up some incredible BTEC grades.

Iqra Khalil secured Triple Distinction Stars in Level 3 Health and Social Care and will now progress onto Manchester Metropolitan University to study Business with HR.

She said: “It feels really good to have achieved these results, all my hard work has paid off.”

Another high-flyer was Joseph Byrne who secured a place at Edge Hill University to study Professional Policing after achieving Triple Distinction Stars in Public Services.

Joseph said: “I am really happy with my results and appreciative of all the support I have received from my tutors.”

Reflecting on the academic year and results, Bury College's principal and chief executive, Charlie Dean, said he was proud of all the students during this unprecedented time.

He added: Hundreds of learners will now be progressing onto university or employment due to the commitment they have shown in their studies and from the dedicated support they have received from our staff.

"There is uncertainty nationally regarding grades and many changes are currently taking place.

"During this period, the college will be focussing on supporting its students and helping them receive the results and progression opportunities that reflect their abilities."

Bury College is expected to release further details of its results when all grades have been finalised.
