TWO flats could be created in a former butcher’s shop if plans are approved.
Proposals to convert the now-vacant Mason’s Family Butchers on Marsh House Lane into one-bedroom flats have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council.
Applicants Mr and Mrs S Richardson say that minor modifications are required to the front of the property, including the reduction of the shop glazing to form a domestic window.
A rear window would also be swapped for a rear exit door, while the rear shutter door would be bricked over to form a bathroom.
On the inside, each flat would come with a bedroom, kitchen-living area and bathroom, which could be created through minor reconfiguration.
The applicants say that the property is located in an already established residential location close to shops and services, and is based on a well-serviced bus route providing access to the town centre.
As a result, the development would create no impact on transport or highways.
