DANCING Chris has been jailed again for breaching a court order banning him from Warrington town centre.

The 64-year-old, whose full name is Christopher Berry, was handed a total of 17 weeks behind bars at Warrington Magistrates Court on Monday, August 10.

He was given a criminal behaviour order in January this year, banning him from entering the town centre after a series of incidents involving police over the previous six months – including fighting, threats of violence, drunk and disorderly behaviour and public urination.

But Berry, of Lovely Lane in Whitecross, was found on Springfield Street by the authorities on Monday, August 3.

Appearing in court the following day, he was handed a four-week imprisonment suspended for a year and told to pay a victim surcharge of £128 after admitting breaching a CBO.

Warrington Guardian:

The defendant then breached the order again four days later, having been ‘swearing and threatening and causing alarm and distress’.

Berry pleaded guilty to another breach and failing to comply with supervision requirements, for which he was handed a total of 13 weeks in prison.

And magistrates also activated his suspended sentence in full, with this further jail time to be served consecutively.

Another £128 victim surcharge was imposed.

This is the third time that Dancing Chris has been jailed for breaching the CBO, which was handed down after he had become a ‘drain on Cheshire Police’s resources’.

He was handed 12 weeks in prison after flouting the order four days after it was imposed, and was then given another 16 weeks in April for a second breach.
