A RADCLIFFE woman is set to stand trial over allegations she tried to smuggle drugs into a north-west prison.
Elaine Burgin, 54, has appeared before Manchester magistrates, charged with three offences relating to Buckley Hall Prison, near Rochdale.
Burgin, of Seddon Close, has been accused of attempting to convey various class A and B drugs into the jail on November 21 last year.
Magistrates committed her on bail to Minshull Street Crown Court for an October 2 hearing.
