A NEW careers week has been devised to encourage more people to consider digital futures.

Manchester Digital has teamed up with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) for an initiative set to advise and inform anyone looking to switch.

An estimated 730,000 plus people have lost their jobs as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

And the scheme is looking to demonstrate how job-hunters can translate their existing skill-set for the digital world.

Supporters of the initiative include Microsoft, Code Nation, Co-Op Digital and AutoTrader.

Around 100,000 people in the Manchester are currently employed in the field.

The week-long event will be running from October 5 to 9 and those interested can sign up on the Manchester Digital website.
