A SOLICITORS group in East Lancashire has taken over another practice.

WHN Solicitors has strengthened its presence in Accrington with the acquisition of Rosthorns Solicitors.

The move will see Rosthorns’ founder and senior partner, David Rosthorn and his practice relocate from its Peel Street office to WHN Solicitors’ Accrington base on Cannon Street.

Mr Rosthorn set up Rosthorns in 1986 and has since built up a client base of individuals and families across the region. He specialises in conveyancing, wills and probate.

He will join WHN’s conveyancing team as a solicitor.

Michael Shroot, CEO of WHN Solicitors, said: “David has a fantastic reputation in the local area and we’re delighted to have him on the team.

“Having set up Rosthorns 34 years ago and developed it into a highly reputable firm, it is clear David is a true professional and has a passion for client care and adding value to his clients.

"These values are aligned to ours which made the decision to join forces an easy one.

“We’re always on the look-out for experienced and passionate legal professionals as talented people are at the heart our brand. David’s knowledge will only enhance our capabilities.”

WHN Solicitors has offices in Accrington, Bacup, Blackburn, Bury, Clitheroe, Great Harwood, Haslingden and Rawtenstall and employs 100 staff.

Mr Rosthorn said: “I am looking forward to working with the WHN team and achieving a smooth transition of my clients and their matters to WHN, with me continuing to work on behalf of my clients.

“I believe that my clients will benefit from having access to a wider range of legal services through WHN, while still being able to benefit from my many years of experience.

“I am already discovering how friendly and approachable the staff and directors of WHN are and am sure that my clients will find the same.”

The origins of WHN arise from the merger in 2012 of Woodcocks Solicitors - established in 1791 - and Haworth and Nuttall Solicitors - established in 1878 - to become WHN Solicitors.
