LANCASHIRE based manufacturing director David Holmes is to receive an OBE in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to aerospace manufacturing.
Mr Holmes joined BAE Systems in 1984 as a craft apprentice and has remained with the company since then.
During that time, he has undertaken a variety of roles within the company and his current role covers overseeing manufacturing operations in the air sector.
Mr Holmes has also previously received the Be Inspired Business Award (BIBA) Businessperson of the Year award, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) North West award for Design & Innovation and the North West Regional Development Agency award for Best Practice.
