AN inquest has opened into the death of a Radcliffe man whose body was found in Stoneclough.

Police coroners’ officer Ben Dobbs said Albanian national Shkelqim Paja, 43, was married and worked as a waiter before his death on October 14.

At Bolton Coroners Court, Mr Dobbs told area coroner Alan Walsh Mr Paja’s body was found by a member of the public in woods close to Fold Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene but Mr Paja, of Wolsey Street, was pronounced dead at 8.22am. He was identified using a driving licence found on his person.

A post-mortem examination carried out on October 16 found the provisional cause of death to be from hanging.

Adjourning for a full inquest to take place, Mr Walsh said he plans to contact Mr Paja’s GP and a representative of Fairfield Hospital, where he was being treated, to further understand the state of his mental health.
