COLLEGE students and staff have been involved in several weeks of charitable and awareness events that have shone light on important issues.
Tutors and teens at Bury College donned Pudsey ears and onesies to celebrate Children in Need and collected money in buckets. The college raised over £200.
Students also paid their respects for this year’s Remembrance Day. Student governors along with staff visited the cenotaph in Bury town centre where they laid a wreath on behalf of the college.
Student governor and computing student Jamie Brown said: “I really enjoyed representing the college in my student governor role by laying the wreath. Bury College is a fundamental pillar of the community. We felt that supporting the community as well as our country was very important.”
Victoria Fell, a college assistant director, added: “We actively promote the raising of awareness and funds for causes of local, national and global significance in ways which benefit students, staff and the wider community.”
