A WOMAN is attempting to reunite a bracelet she found 46 years with its rightful owner.

Vanessa Lowe, 53, found the unique looking bracelet in 1974 when she was just seven-years-old.

She had given it to her father who wore it for many years before his death several years ago.

Vanessa said: "I was walking with my mother close to a building site in Bury when I spotted something shining in the mud.

"They were building new houses on the site and it may have been owned by someone who worked there.

"I took it home and gave it to my dad who wore it forever. I always thought it was an unusual looking bracelet."

The bracelet was found around the Cotswold Crescent/ Walshaw Road area, but Vanessa can't remember the exact location.

Vanessa said that she doesn't know if the bracelet is silver, gold or any other precious metal, but is not looking for money for it.

She added: "I was having a tidy up and came back across it again. I saw it and thought 'wouldn't it be lovely to reunite it with its original owner?'"

"Hopefully someone sees it and recognises it as theirs - that would be lovely."
