A DEDICATED volunteer has pledged to collect 100 bags of litter this month in aid of Bury Hospice.

Bury resident Nigel Adams is a member of the Keep Bury Clean group, a group of more than 850 litter pickers, who can regularly be seen out and about on Bury’s streets and countryside.

Throughout March, Nigel is setting himself a challenge of collecting 100 sacks of litter in a charity fundraising event for Bury Hospice.

Nigel said: "I enjoy fundraising and Bury Hospice is a fantastic cause. Sponsored walks and runs are a brilliant thing, but I’ve often thought to myself, wouldn’t it be great to kill two birds with the same stone and combine fundraising with a second good cause? So I decided I’d raise some money for the Hospice at the same time as tidying up the town."

Nigel’s fundraising effort will continue throughout the month. For those wishing to donate to the event and raise money for Bury Hospice, the link for donations is: justgiving.com/fundraising/Nigel-Adams9
