POLICE are trying to find the next of kin of a man who was stabbed to death and two men have been released after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

Officers were called just before 11.10am on Monday to Liverpool Road in Eccles to a report of a disturbance.

Emergency services attended and enquiries established a 41-year-old man had been stabbed inside a property.

The victim died at the scene.

Two men, both aged 34, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

One man has been released on bail and the second man has been released with no further action.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Vicky Wade of Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team said: "As our investigation continues our thoughts have firmly remained with the man who has sadly died and his family.

"Extensive enquiries are ongoing to locate his next of kin.

"Although two arrests have been made I would like to stress that our investigation is very much ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who has any information that could assist our enquiries to come forward and assist police.

"We are still treating this incident as isolated with no wider risk to the community but I would stress that we are working at pace to ensure the responsible parties are identified and face the appropriate justice.
