FOLLOWING the death of Prince Philip which was announced at the weekend, we headed back into the archive to reproduce two photographs taken when he visited the area.
In November 1976, the Duke of Edinburgh was the special guest at Bury Grammar School when he was given an almost rock star-like welcome by pupils.
The royal visitor was invited to attend the celebrations to mark the 250th anniversary of the re-founding of the school by the Rev Roger Kay.
