THE founder of a huge children's festival taking place in Heaton Park this summer has offered NHS workers half price tickets for their families.

Geronimo Festival will take place at Heaton Park on June 26 and 27 and is being billed as a celebrate of lockdown ending.

Simon Goldman, founder of the Geronimo Festival, said: “When my sister fell ill with Covid-19 recently she spent time in hospital on oxygen, being cared for by our wonderful NHS.

"Offering a heavily discounted ticket to Geronimo is the very least we can do to say thank you. With 1,000 NHS family passes up for grabs, we hope to welcome NHS staff and their families to Heaton Park for a well deserved treat ”

All NHS workers will be able to purchase a family pass for £35 instead of the normal price of £70. The tickets must be purchased between May 10-23 2021. This ticket can include family of four plus a free under three and two free senior citizens so a party of seven.

NHS workers can be assured that the festival has put lots of extra safety measures in place and anyone who tests positive for COVID so is unable to attend will receive a full refund.

A spokesperson for Geronimo said: "Geronimo is a fun packed family festival with dazzling stage shows, fantastic arena demonstrations, live music on the main stage from huge artists, craft marquees, donkey rides, monster truck shows, a funfair and the worlds biggest bouncy castle.

"There will be three fabulous showground arenas, a hive of entertainment throughout the festival with timetabled events including jousting tournaments, camel racing and more. Adults and bigger children can enjoy high adrenaline zip lines and watch amazing motorcycle riders on the wheel of death.

"No Manchester festival would be complete of course without music, for the Parents and Grandparents we are delighted to announce a legendary Manchester line up featuring DJs Mr Scruff, Bez and Cilint Boon.

"Set in Heaton Park the largest municipal park in Britain, the home to some of the most epic music festivals of all time, the event will be spread out to allow families to have enough space to ensure a special day out. For families that haven’t been to Geronimo before we recommend you arrive early as there is enough free entertainment for you to stay all day.

All NHS workers will be able to purchase a family pass for £35 instead of the normal price of £70 between 10th-23rd May 2021; they will need to show their NHS card / ID number along with their tickets at the gate to gain entry on the day.
