A RAMSBOTTOM family will celebrate their pub reopening after lockdown by making an amazing pledge to the NHS.

Father-and-son landlords Bill and Will Gallie, who own Holcombe Tap on Bolton Road West, have promised to donate 10p for every drink they sell in the week following reopening on May 17.

Opening their doors back in 2018, Bill and Will have built up a loyal customer base and are excited to welcome back faces and old and new through their doors again when lockdown rules are eased.

Formerly known as The Masons Arms, the pub reopened after a major refurbishment and now boasts the largest selection of gins in the town.

To reward their drinkers for sticking by the pub throughout the hard times of the past year, the pair are also treating one lucky customer and their friends or family to a tab worth £100 through a competition on the pub’s social media channels.

Will said: “We cannot wait to welcome customers, old and new, through our doors and enjoy our freshly-cooked food and lively atmosphere.

“When we reopened outside a few weeks back, we sold over 4,000 drinks in the opening week, meaning based on our 10p per drink pledge we would have donated over £400. However, when we open inside, we will have even more tables to seat more customers so we can’t wait to see how much we are going to be giving to the NHS charities - they certainly deserve it.

“It has been such a tough year for everyone, and our industry has struggled immensely, yet the response from the public has been overwhelming.”

Holcombe Tap and their staff have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare their bar and kitchen to be ready for the reopening of indoor hospitality.

“We are offering an experience worth £100 to a lucky customer,” added Will. “The competition is available through our social media, so we encourage everyone to enter and come have a good time on us.”
