EMERGENCY services are still at the scene of a police incident in Bury.
Rochdale Old Road has been closed off in both directions between Smethhurst Hall Road and Elbut Lane since before 6pm - close to Fairfield General Hospital.
Pictures taken at the scene shortly after 9pm show several police vehicles stationed on the road, as well as a police cordon - and it is understood that there were a large amount of ambulances at the scene earlier, as well as an air ambulance.
A nearby resident said that a man was taken to hospital but this remains unconfirmed.
The Bury Times has contacted Greater Manchester Police to confirm the nature of the incident.
More to follow.
