A MAN has been charged with drugs and public order offences following an incident at Besses o'The Barns tram stop.
Richard Alexander, 47, of Heywood Street, Manchester has been charged with two public order offences and possession of a Class C drug after reports of a suspicious male seen near the tram stop on May 6.
Police officers attended the scene and arrested the man who was described as carrying "a large quantity of drugs".
A spokesperson for Transport for Greater Manchester confirmed that Metrolink staff were "abused and threatened " during the incident.
