A WOMAN has been taken to hospital following a rush-hour collision on the motorway this morning.
Traffic police attended the scene earlier on the M61 at the end of the Southbound exit slip at Westhoughton - at around 9am on June 16.
A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We have taken a woman in her thirties to hospital, but the nature of her injuries is currrently unknown."
A North West Motorway Police spokesperson said: "We're currently in attendance on the M61 at a collision at the end of the Southbound exit slip at Westhoughton.
"We have Lane 2 of the off slip closed while we assist."

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed: "Officers were called just before 9.30am on June 16 to a collision involving two vehicles. Emergency services attended and a woman was taken to hospital."
