PLANS have been lodged to build 10 new homes in Great Lever.

The proposals are for land at the rear of Vernham Walk.

The plans at this stage are in ‘outline’ only and request Bolton Council to change the use of the land to housing.

Developers Zenith Stoneworks Ltd have filed location plans in which say the area they wish to build on is to the rear of number 2-26, Vernham Walk.

A highways department response did not raise any objection to the plans.

Their statement, said: “The proposal will generate negligible traffic onto the surrounding highway network which will be accommodated with little additional detriment to road safety and the operational capacity of the surrounding highway network.

“On this basis, no objections on highway grounds to the principle of residential development at this location subject to the site internal roads being to the council’s standards for adoption.”

Neighbouring residents on Vernham Walk, Mancroft Avenue, Upton Walk and Minorca Street will now be consulted on the plans.

Bolton Council will then deliberate on whether to designate the land for housing.
