A shopping centre in Bury is one of the newest faces on the platform, TikTok, as they launch an exciting new campaign.

Mill Gate Shopping Centre have started TikTokTurf, an exclusive space for TikTokers and content editors to visit and make original viral video content.

The space has four main areas for the public to use, including a bespoke, botanical based mural, featuring a design of the Manchester Bee, with a graffiti #lovewall alongisde it, a customisable chalk wall.

Kirsty Williams, Mill Gate centre manager commented, "We have been wanting to do something like this for a while, however we wanted to ensure we did it at a time where it was safe for the local community to participate.

"Our aim was to bring the online trend in to an offline experience and we cannot wait to see how our community uses their imagination to do this."

To design the mural, Mill Gate commissioned Manchester based artists, Amy Coney, who specialises in bespoke murals and oil paintings.

Some members of the Mill Gate team are enthusiastic fans and creators of TikTok content.

One such staff member, know to his followers as @officialtiktoktom, commented: "It's great to see such an engaging and innovative concept.

"Many people joined TikTok to have that feeling of community at a time when we couldn't be together.

"Now it will be great to see people creating content together just because it's fun."

The space is open for public use, completely free, featuring hand sanitisers and subject to social distancing guidelines.
