A MAN has been prosecuted after being caught driving while disqualified and without third party insurance.

Guildford Magistrates Court heard how Harun Ahmed Gul, 28, of 43 March Street, Burnley, drove a white Seat Ibiza on the M25 near Chertsey while 'disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence' on 29 April 2019.

Mr Gul entered a not guilty plea but was subsequently found guilty.

He was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months, along with incurring costs of £748 to be paid in full by the end of July.

He has also been ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work over the course of the next 12 months.

The court heard that the "offence was so serious" it was befitting of such a stern penalty.
