A NEW partnership has been formed to offer a fresh future for a Bury Choir.

From this week, Bury Community Choir will be known as Bury Fire Choir.

And to crown the fledgling link-up between the singers and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue there was a taster session at the brigade's training centre in Hinds Lane, off Wellington Street tonight.

Not only will the event officially celebrate the relaunch but also mark their performing return after members spent 18 months apart due to lockdown.

A spokesman for the new Bury Fire Choir said: "The event is also to recruit new members, particularly men.

"Our bass section is low on numbers and although we are an 80-piece Choir, we have very few men."

Choir supporters say they are open to adults of all abilities.

"No auditions are required, just bring yourself and your enthusiasm and come and sing." added an official.

People interested in joining up or who want more information can e-mail Justine Rossetti at juskel23@yahoo.co.uk or attend tonight from 7pm.
