This aerial photo of Bury town centre was taken in June 1955 and reveals a very different town to the one we know today.
There are no ring road, no major shopping centres and still plenty of mills in operation. It’s interesting to see how big a part the railway played with rail lines almost framing the photo running across both the top and bottom of the picture and from top to bottom on the right hand side.
