Bury Council are looking to help young people across the borough discover their calling at a new Careers Event.

Taking place at Castle Leisure Centre on Wednesday, October 13, it will feature representative from Apprentice Training Providers, Colleges, Employers, Higher Education, as well as Information, Advice and Guidance.

Cllr Tamoor Tariq, cabinet member for children's services, young people and skills said: "There has been a rise in the popularity of apprenticeships as an alternative to college and university or for after higher education to provide on-hand experience and develop future career opportunities.

"Of course, our friendly staff will be on hand to hep with any questions if you're unsure of what you want to do and provide advice about apprenticeships, college and university.

"You're also welcome to come along if you have recently left college, employment or training and are looking for new opportunities.

"There are more than 250 apprenticeship placements available within the local area, which can help you further your career or build a foundation for a new one."

Exhibitors at the event will include the British Army, GM Fire & Rescue Service, White Rose Beauty College, YMCA Training, Alliance LEarning, Northern Care Alliance NHS Group, The Growth Company, Bolton College, University Academy 92, Canon Slade 6th Form and Salford City College.
