Emergency services were called to a serious car crash this evening.

Police, fire, and ambulance were called to Bury New Road, outside Lidl, Prestwich, around 4.40pm after a collision between four vehicles.

There were believed to be three minor injuries from the crash, with one person taken to hospital.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Collision involving four vehicles and we're assisting with traffic management.

"Doesn’t appear to be any serious injuries."

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "We were called around 4.40pm to a road traffic collision involving four vehicles.

"One fire engine from Salford and a technical response unit from Ashton attended and made the scene safe.

"We passed on three people to NWAS with injuries which were believed to be minor with one person taken to hospital as a precaution.

"We left at around 5.39."
