SMALL and medium sized businesses could be set to benefit from free Autumn budget seminars later this month.

The seminars will be held by chartered accountancy firm PM+M, which has branches in both Bury and Blackburn, and which will aim to simplify and cut through to the details of Chancellor Rishi Sunak's Autumn budget and to his conclusions to the 2021 Spending Review.

The two seminars will be held on Thursday October 28.

PM+M managing partner Jane Parry said: "As we emerge from the pandemic, all eyes will be on the chancellor to see how his fiscal policies will impact on businesses and individuals.

"The recent NIC tax rises have sparked huge debate, and further tax changes are predicted, so the upcoming budget and these events are certainly not to be missed."

The Autumn budget is set to have a dramatic impact on firms and families throughout the country with the chancellor reportedly planning up to to £2billion worth of cuts, along with introducing the UK's highest peacetime tax rate, according to the Institute for Fiscal Studies.

This comes after the Covid pandemic put unprecedented pressure on all kinds of businesses, particularly in Greater Manchester and East Lancashire which were both hit with especially high infection rates and localised lockdowns at various points during the crisis.

As such PM+M, which has offices in Waterfold House Waterfold Business Park Bury and Greenbank Technology Park, Challenge Way, Blackburn, hopes that its advice can help local firms weather the difficult times ahead.

The seminars will feature panels of experts speakers who will highlight the key announcements made by Rishi Sunak and will outline their thoughts on the potential impact on businesses and individuals that the chancellor's decisions could have.

PM+M will be live streaming the seminars for anyone who is unable to attend in person.
