STRICTLY Come Dancing fans in Ramsbottom can put on their dancing shoes and join a new dancing fitness programme.

Designed by former Strictly stars Natalie Lowe, Ian Waite and six time world champion swimmer Mark Foster, Fitsteps is the new programme with classes every Tuesday in Edenfield, Ramsbottom.

Laura Brooks, accredited dancing fitness instructor of eight years, said she hopes to pass on her dancing expertise, deliver some fast fitness results and a sense of fun that comes with dancing like a professional.

Laura said: “I’ve been dancing since I was just three years old and it’s been my whole life.

“I’ve met so many of my friends through it, and used to do shows and competitions when I lived on the Isle of Man.

“It’s a huge part of who I am and I don’t know what I’d be doing without it so I want to spread my passion to as many people as I can.

“To be honest, it feels amazing to be here giving these lessons because I see people coming and gaining the confidence and energy that comes from learning the steps they’ve seen on TV countless Saturday nights.

“There’s absolutely no pressure to be perfect on your first try and it doesn’t matter what age or ability you are, just so long as you come along and enjoy yourself.

“It doesn’t take long to get really good, you just have to give it a try because you will get such a great sense of accomplishment from it.

“There’s a real community feel that comes with it, a certain energy you get with a room of people doing the same moves in time and you all become great friends.”

Fitsteps is a dancing fitness programme with classes run across the UK, designed to help its students get into shape and learn moves from the iconic BBC series.

Laura Brooks’ lessons are run every Tuesday at 7.15pm at The Provident Society at 42 Market Street, Edenfield, Ramsbottom.
