New Year dip, 1982
Sub-zero temperatures, freezing fog and several inches of ice on the surface weren’t going to stop members of Radcliffe Swimming Club from enjoying their annual New Year’s Day dip in 1982 in the Arctic waters of Starmount Lodge at Bradley Fold near Bolton. Among those braving the elements were Cliff Morris (right) and Denis Bushell
